Toys 4 Children 2012

Update 12/07/2012

I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone at our school for their awesome support on this year's toy drive!  I took 167 Toys to the Lexington Fire Department this afternoon, and when I opened the doors on my van and the toys fell out at the firemen's feet, their jaws dropped open!

This was a fun and exciting project to work on this year, and I could never have pulled it off without the help of Mrs. Robinson.  Thanks ever so much!

As for the incredible staff, students, and wonderful parents that made sure that kids in Lexington will have a great Christmas morning, thank you, and I will never forget the selfless attitude of giving you all shared.

Finally, I just want to share with you this piece of scripture that has been in my mind since I have witnessed all of the kind generosity you have shown the children of Lexington this year...

Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful  giver. 2 Corinthians 9: 7

God Bless, and Merry Christmas to you all!

UPDATE 11/27/2012

At the end of school yesterday, I had 63% which is wonderful!!  Most of the toys, however, were donated by the Elementary School!!!  C'mon, High School students, surely we can do better than this!!!!!

UPDATE 11/26/2012

We are now at 50% but we only have until December 7th to make 100%  We are a mere 50 toys away from our goal!!!

Please Don’t Forget to buy a Toy for a Needy Child This Holiday!!!
1.         Purchase a toy for either a boy or a girl from a local store. The gift should be valued at no less than $5.00.
2.         Give the toy to your student so he or she can deliver it to us.  The gift needs to be new, unwrapped and in its original box.
3.         Double check with your student to make sure that he or she gave the toy to the teacher and the teacher recorded the fact that your student did indeed deliver the toy.
4.         The gift should be for a child age 10 or younger.

This year I am conducting a fun and exciting way for the students at BGBS to help other children that are less fortunate than them, by donating toys to the Lexington Fire Department's Children's Toy program 2012.

Working with the Lexington Fire Department, we hope to have at least a 50% donation from each class this year, at BGBS.  The reason for the toy drive is so that students can participate in a program which benefits other children in the area that are less fortunate than them.  It will empower the students by giving them the opportunity to be proactive and involved in a project that involves community and good will.

If any parents, students, or business owners, know of how we can really make an impact by participating in this program, please feel free to email, call or send me a message through facebook at the addresses listed below.

Thanks so much for your time, and please lend a hand where you can this year!
